SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human ME2 (malic enzyme 2, also called NAD-ME) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human ME2 qPCR Primer Set – malic enzyme 2
Also known as: ODS1
About this gene: ME2 encodes a mitochondrial NAD-dependent malic enzyme, a homotetrameric protein, that catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of malate to pyruvate. The ME2 gene product had previously been weakly linked to a syndrome known as Friedreich ataxia that has since been shown to be the result of mutation in a completely different gene. Certain single-nucleotide polymorphism haplotypes of ME2 have been shown to increase the risk for idiopathic generalized epilepsy.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 4200; HGNC ID: HGNC:6984; UniProt: P23368; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_002396.5; Chromosome location: 18q21.2
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
