SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human IFIH1 (interferon induced with helicase C domain 1, also called Helicard) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human IFIH1 qPCR Primer Set – interferon induced with helicase C domain 1
Also known as: AGS7, Hlcd, IDDM19, IMD95, MDA-5, MDA5, RLR-2, SGMRT1
About this gene: IFIH1 encodes MDA5 which is an intracellular sensor of viral RNA that triggers the innate immune response. Sensing RNA length and secondary structure, MDA5 binds dsRNA oligonucleotides with a modified DExD/H-box helicase core and a C-terminal domain, thus leading to a proinflammatory response that includes interferons. The IFIH1 gene product has been shown that Coronaviruses as well as various other virus families, are capable of evading the MDA5-dependent interferon response, thus impeding the activation of the innate immune response to infection.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 64135; HGNC ID: HGNC:18873; UniProt: Q9BYX4; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_022168.4; Chromosome location: 2q24.2
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
