Human MBTPS2 qPCR Primer Set – membrane bound transcription factor peptidase, site 2
Also known as: BRESEK, IFAP, KFSD, KFSDX, OI19, OLMSX, S2P
About this gene: MBTPS2 encodes a intramembrane zinc metalloprotease, which is essential in development. This protease functions in the signal protein activation involved in sterol control of transcription and the ER stress response. Mutations in MBTPS2 have been linked to ichthyosis follicularis with atrichia and photophobia; IFAP syndrome has been quantitatively linked to a reduction in cholesterol homeostasis and ER stress response.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 51360; HGNC ID: HGNC:15455; UniProt: O43462; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_015884.4; Chromosome location: Xp22.12
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
