Human MBD1 qPCR Primer Set – methyl-CpG binding domain protein 1
Also known as: CXXC3, PCM1, RFT
About this gene: The MBD1 protein belongs to a family of nuclear proteins related by the presence of a methyl-CpG binding domain. These proteins are capable of binding specifically to methylated DNA, and some members can also repress transcription from methylated gene promoters. The MBD1 protein contains multiple domains: MBD at the N-terminus that functions both in binding to methylated DNA and in protein interactions; multiple CXXC-type zinc finger domains that mediate binding to non-methylated CpG dinucleotides.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 4152; HGNC ID: HGNC:6916; UniProt: Q9UIS9; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_015846.4; Chromosome location: 18q21.1
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
