Product Description

SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human KCNQ4 (potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily Q member 4) gene expression by real-time PCR.

Human KCNQ4 qPCR Primer Set – potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily Q member 4

Also known as: DFNA2, DFNA2A, KV7.4

About this gene: The KCNQ4 protein forms a potassium channel that is believed to play a critical role in the regulation of neuronal excitability, particularly in sensory cells of the cochlea. The current generated by this channel is inhibited by M1 muscarinic acetylcholine receptors and activated by retigabine, a novel anti-convulsant drug. The KCNQ4 protein can form a homomultimeric potassium channel or possibly a heteromultimeric channel in association with the protein encoded by the KCNQ3 gene.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 9132; HGNC ID: HGNC:6298; UniProt: P56696; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_004700.4; Chromosome location: 1p34.2

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
