Product Description

SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human IDE (insulin degrading enzyme, also called Insulysin) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.

Human IDE qPCR Primer Set – insulin degrading enzyme

Also known as: INSULYSIN

About this gene: IDE encodes a zinc metallopeptidase that degrades intracellular insulin, and thereby terminates insulins activity, as well as participating in intercellular peptide signalling by degrading diverse peptides such as glucagon, amylin, bradykinin, and kallidin. The preferential affinity of this enzyme for insulin leads to insulin-mediated inhibition of the degradation of other peptides such as beta-amyloid. Deficiencies in this protein's function are linked to Alzheimer's disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus but mutations in IDE have not been shown to be causitive for these diseases.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 3416; HGNC ID: HGNC:5381; UniProt: P14735; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_004969.4; Chromosome location: 10q23.33

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
