SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human SETD2 (SET domain containing 2, histone lysine methyltransferase, also called p231HBP) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human SETD2 qPCR Primer Set – SET domain containing 2, histone lysine methyltransferase
Also known as: HBP231, HIF-1, HIP-1, HSPC069, HYPB, KMT3A, LLS, MRD70, RAPAS, SET2, p231HBP
About this gene: Huntington's disease, a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by loss of striatal neurons, is caused by an expansion of a polyglutamine tract in the HD protein huntingtin. SETD2 encodes a protein belonging to a class of huntingtin interacting proteins characterized by WW motifs. The SETD2 protein is a histone methyltransferase that is specific for lysine-36 of histone H3, and methylation of this residue is linked to active chromatin.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 29072; HGNC ID: HGNC:18420; UniProt: Q9BYW2; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_014159.7; Chromosome location: 3p21.31
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
