SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human HTR2A (5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 2A) gene expression by real-time PCR.
Human HTR2A qPCR Primer Set – 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 2A
Also known as: 5-HT2A, HTR2
About this gene: HTR2A encodes one of the receptors for serotonin, a neurotransmitter with many roles. Mutations in HTR2A are linked to susceptibility to schizophrenia and obsessive-compulsive disorder, and are also linked to response to the antidepressant citalopram in patients with major depressive disorder. MDD patients who also have a mutation in intron 2 of HTR2A show a significantly reduced response to citalopram as this antidepressant downregulates expression of HTR2A.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 3356; HGNC ID: HGNC:5293; UniProt: P28223; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000621.5; Chromosome location: 13q14.2
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
