Product Description

SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human HSD17B1 (hydroxysteroid 17-beta dehydrogenase 1, also called E2DH) gene expression by real-time PCR.

Human HSD17B1 qPCR Primer Set – hydroxysteroid 17-beta dehydrogenase 1

Also known as: 17-beta-HSD, 20-alpha-HSD, E2DH, EDH17B2, EDHB17, HSD17, SDR28C1

About this gene: HSD17B1 belongs to the 17beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase family of short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases. The HSD17B1 gene product has a dual function in estrogen activation and androgen inactivation and plays a major role in establishing the estrogen E2 concentration gradient between serum and peripheral tissues. The HSD17B1 protein catalyzes the last step in estrogen activation, using NADPH to convert estrogens E1 and E2 and androgens like 4-androstenedione, to testosterone.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 3292; HGNC ID: HGNC:5210; UniProt: P14061; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000413.4; Chromosome location: 17q21.2

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
