SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human HP (haptoglobin, also called Zonulin) gene expression by real-time PCR.
Human HP qPCR Primer Set – haptoglobin
Also known as: HP2ALPHA2, HPA1S
About this gene: HP encodes a preproprotein, which is processed to yield both alpha and beta chains, which subsequently combine as a tetramer to produce haptoglobin. Haptoglobin functions to bind free plasma hemoglobin, which allows degradative enzymes to gain access to the hemoglobin, while at the same time preventing loss of iron through the kidneys and protecting the kidneys from damage by hemoglobin. Mutations in HP and/or its regulatory regions cause ahaptoglobinemia or hypohaptoglobinemia.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 3240; HGNC ID: HGNC:5141; UniProt: P00738; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_005143.5; Chromosome location: 16q22.2
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
