About this gene: The protein encoded by HM13, which localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum, catalyzes intramembrane proteolysis of some signal peptides after they have been cleaved from a preprotein. This activity is required to generate signal sequence-derived human lymphocyte antigen-E epitopes that are recognized by the immune system, and to process hepatitis C virus core protein. The HM13 protein is an integral membrane protein with sequence motifs characteristic of the presenilin-type aspartic proteases.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 81502; HGNC ID: HGNC:16435; UniProt: Q8TCT9; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_178581.3; Chromosome location: 20q11.21
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
