SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human HBA2 (hemoglobin subunit alpha 2, also called Alpha-globin) gene expression by real-time PCR.
Human HBA2 qPCR Primer Set – hemoglobin subunit alpha 2
Also known as: ECYT7, HBA-T2, HBH
About this gene: These genes differ slightly over the 5' untranslated regions and the introns, but they differ significantly over the 3' untranslated regions. Two alpha chains plus two beta chains constitute HbA, which in normal adult life comprises about 97% of the total hemoglobin; alpha chains combine with delta chains to constitute HbA-2. Alpha thalassemias result from deletions of each of the alpha genes as well as deletions of both HBA2 and HBA1; some nondeletion alpha thalassemias have also been reported.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 3040; HGNC ID: HGNC:4824; UniProt: P69905; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000517.6; Chromosome location: 16p13.3
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
