SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human GRM1 (glutamate metabotropic receptor 1, also called mGluR1) gene expression by real-time PCR.
Human GRM1 qPCR Primer Set – glutamate metabotropic receptor 1
Also known as: GPRC1A, MGLU1, MGLUR1, PPP1R85, SCA44, SCAR13
About this gene: GRM1 encodes a metabotropic glutamate receptor that functions by activating phospholipase C. L-glutamate is the major excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system and activates both ionotropic and metabotropic glutamate receptors. Glutamatergic neurotransmission is involved in most aspects of normal brain function and can be perturbed in many neuropathologic conditions. The canonical alpha isoform of the GRM1 protein is a disulfide-linked homodimer whose activity is mediated by a G-protein-coupled phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 2911; HGNC ID: HGNC:4593; UniProt: Q13255; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_001278064.2; Chromosome location: 6q24.3
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
