SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human GLS (glutaminase, also called K-glutaminase) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human GLS qPCR Primer Set – glutaminase
Also known as: AAD20, CASGID, DEE71, EIEE71, GAC, GAM, GDPAG, GLS1, KGA
About this gene: GLS encodes a K-type mitochondrial glutaminase. The GLS protein is an phosphate-activated amidohydrolase that catalyzes the hydrolysis of glutamine to glutamate and ammonia. The GLS protein is primarily expressed in the brain and kidney plays an essential role in generating energy for metabolism, synthesizing the brain neurotransmitter glutamate and maintaining acid-base balance in the kidney.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 2744; HGNC ID: HGNC:4331; UniProt: O94925; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_014905.5; Chromosome location: 2q32.2
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
