SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human GLA (galactosidase alpha, also called Melibiase) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human GLA qPCR Primer Set – galactosidase alpha
Also known as: GALA
About this gene: GLA encodes a homodimeric glycoprotein that hydrolyses the terminal alpha-galactosyl moieties from glycolipids and glycoproteins. This enzyme predominantly hydrolyzes ceramide trihexoside, and it can catalyze the hydrolysis of melibiose into galactose and glucose. A variety of mutations in GLA affect the synthesis, processing, and stability of this enzyme, which causes Fabry disease, a rare lysosomal storage disorder that results from a failure to catabolize alpha-D-galactosyl glycolipid moieties.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 2717; HGNC ID: HGNC:4296; UniProt: P06280; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000169.3; Chromosome location: Xq22.1
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
