SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human GJA8 (gap junction protein alpha 8, also called Cx50) gene expression by real-time PCR.
Human GJA8 qPCR Primer Set – gap junction protein alpha 8
Also known as: CAE, CAE1, CTRCT1, CX50, CZP1, MP70
About this gene: GJA8 encodes a transmembrane connexin protein that is necessary for lens growth and maturation of lens fiber cells. The GJA8 protein is a component of gap junction channels and functions in a calcium and pH-dependent manner. Mutations in GJA8 have been linked to zonular pulverulent cataracts, nuclear progressive cataracts, and cataract-microcornea syndrome.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 2703; HGNC ID: HGNC:4281; UniProt: P48165; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_005267.5; Chromosome location: 1q21.2
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
