SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human GHRL (ghrelin and obestatin prepropeptide) gene expression by real-time PCR.
Human GHRL qPCR Primer Set – ghrelin and obestatin prepropeptide
Also known as: MTLRP
About this gene: GHRL encodes a ghrelin-obestatin preproprotein that is cleaved to yield two peptides, ghrelin and obestatin. Ghrelin is a powerful appetite stimulant and is important for energy homeostasis. Its secretion is initiated when the stomach is empty, whereupon it binds to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor in the hypothalamus which leads to the secretion of growth hormone.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 51738; HGNC ID: HGNC:18129; UniProt: Q9UBU3; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_016362.5; Chromosome location: 3p25.3
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
