SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human GCAT (glycine C-acetyltransferase) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human GCAT qPCR Primer Set – glycine C-acetyltransferase
Also known as: KBL
About this gene: The degradation of L-threonine to glycine consists of a two-step biochemical pathway involving the enzymes L-threonine dehydrogenase and 2-amino-3-ketobutyrate coenzyme A ligase. L-Threonine is first converted into 2-amino-3-ketobutyrate by L-threonine dehydrogenase. GCAT encodes a second enzyme in this pathway, which then catalyzes the reaction between 2-amino-3-ketobutyrate and coenzyme A to form glycine and acetyl-CoA. The encoded enzyme is considered a class II pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 23464; HGNC ID: HGNC:4188; UniProt: O75600; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_014291.4; Chromosome location: 22q13.1
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
