SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human EPO (erythropoietin, also called Epoetin) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human EPO qPCR Primer Set – erythropoietin
Also known as: DBAL, ECYT5, EP, MVCD2
About this gene: EPO encodes a secreted, glycosylated cytokine composed of four alpha helical bundles. The EPO protein is mainly synthesized in the kidney, secreted into the blood plasma, and binds to the erythropoietin receptor to promote red blood cell production, or erythropoiesis, in the bone marrow. Expression of EPO is upregulated under hypoxic conditions, in turn leading to increased erythropoiesis and enhanced oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 2056; HGNC ID: HGNC:3415; UniProt: P01588; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000799.4; Chromosome location: 7q22.1
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
