Product Description

SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human ALAD (aminolevulinate dehydratase, also called ALADH) gene expression by real-time PCR.

Human ALAD qPCR Primer Set – aminolevulinate dehydratase

Also known as: ALADH, PBGS

About this gene: The ALAD enzyme is composed of 8 identical subunits and catalyzes the condensation of 2 molecules of delta-aminolevulinate to form porphobilinogen. ALAD catalyzes the second step in the porphyrin and heme biosynthetic pathway; zinc is essential for enzymatic activity. ALAD enzymatic activity is inhibited by lead and a defect in the ALAD structural gene can cause increased sensitivity to lead poisoning and acute hepatic porphyria.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 210; HGNC ID: HGNC:395; UniProt: P13716; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000031.6; Chromosome location: 9q32

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
