SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human CNTF (ciliary neurotrophic factor) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human CNTF qPCR Primer Set – ciliary neurotrophic factor
Also known as: HCNTF
About this gene: The CNTF protein is a polypeptide hormone whose actions appear to be restricted to the nervous system where it promotes neurotransmitter synthesis and neurite outgrowth in certain neuronal populations. The protein is a potent survival factor for neurons and oligodendrocytes and may be relevant in reducing tissue destruction during inflammatory attacks. A mutation in CNTF, which leads to aberrant splicing, leads to ciliary neurotrophic factor deficiency, but this phenotype is not causally related to neurologic disease.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 1270; HGNC ID: HGNC:2169; UniProt: P26441; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000614.4; Chromosome location: 11q12.1
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
