Human ADH7 qPCR Primer Set – alcohol dehydrogenase 7 (class IV), mu or sigma polypeptide

About this gene: ADH7 encodes class IV alcohol dehydrogenase 7 mu or sigma subunit, which belongs to the alcohol dehydrogenase family. Members of this family metabolize a wide variety of substrates, including ethanol, retinol, other aliphatic alcohols, hydroxysteroids, and lipid peroxidation products. The enzyme encoded by ADH7 is inefficient in ethanol oxidation, but is the most active as a retinol dehydrogenase; thus it may participate in the synthesis of retinoic acid, a hormone important for cellular differentiation.

Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 131; HGNC ID: HGNC:256; UniProt: P40394; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000673.7; Chromosome location: 4q23

What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
