SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human CBS (cystathionine beta-synthase, also called Beta-thionase) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human CBS qPCR Primer Set – cystathionine beta-synthase
Also known as: HIP4
About this gene: The CBS protein acts as a homotetramer to catalyze the conversion of homocysteine to cystathionine, the first step in the transsulfuration pathway. The CBS protein is allosterically activated by adenosyl-methionine and uses pyridoxal phosphate as a cofactor. Defects in CBS can cause cystathionine beta-synthase deficiency, which can lead to homocystinuria.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 875; HGNC ID: HGNC:1550; UniProt: P35520; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_000071.3; Chromosome location: 21q22.3
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
