SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting human SHPK (sedoheptulokinase, also called SHK) gene expression by real-time PCR. Each set comes with primer sequences and reaction conditions.
Human SHPK qPCR Primer Set – sedoheptulokinase
Also known as: CARKL, SHK
About this gene: The SHPK protein has weak homology to multiple carbohydrate kinases, a class of proteins involved in the phosphorylation of sugars as they enter a cell, inhibiting return across the cell membrane. Sequence variation between this novel gene and known carbohydrate kinases suggests the possibility of a different substrate, cofactor or changes in kinetic properties distinguishing it from other carbohydrate kinases. The gene resides in a region commonly deleted in cystinosis patients, suggesting a role as a modifier for the cystinosis phenotype.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 23729; HGNC ID: HGNC:1492; UniProt: Q9UHJ6; RefSeq (MANE Select): NM_013276.4; Chromosome location: 17p13.2
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
